Finding a flavor right for you

Finding A Flavor Right For You.
So, you have taken a trip down to your local vape store, you got all the advice you need and have decided upon your first kit. The only thing left to do now is to find a juice that is suitable for you.
Of course, you are free to choose any flavour you like but before you get going there are some things to consider first.
Most smokers tend to use just one brand every time they purchase their cigarettes, but vaping has many more options and can work a little differently.
Finding the right flavour can be a daunting prospect given the number of brands and flavours to choose from and the size of most shops' selection.
I have put together this guide to try and break it down a little bit.
Firstly, there are around 4 main groups of flavours people tend to gravitate towards, those being, fruit flavours, dessert/bakery type flavours, icy or “menthol” type flavours and of course tobacco flavours. Although a new vaper may assume that they previously smoked tobacco and it makes sense to stay as close to what you are used to as possible, not all flavours are made the same and many are very loosely based on what they are named.
The second thing to consider is whether you are going to be using a device that requires nicotine salts or “freebase” nicotine. This dictates what viscosity of e-liquid you will use.
Most freebase e-juice is made using maximum VG (80/20) which is predominantly used in sub-ohm devices DTL (Direct To Lung), and most nic salt juice made in 50/50 VG and PG which in turn makes a thinner liquid suitable for pod devices or use with MTL (Mouth to Lung) devices.
Next, we must consider the correct strength of nicotine that will be used. All juices come in some form of incremental strengths to help you find your happy place and make it easy to gradually step down the nicotine content should you choose to do so.
Even if a customer is new to vaping and has previously been a heavy smoker, I wouldn’t suggest the strongest nicotine as nicotine its self is a very savoury and peppery tasting chemical. I would always suggest using a happy medium until you know what it is you personally need to avoid being put off by the taste of an unnecessarily strong juice. Don’t get me wrong, you can still kill all your cravings with a lower strength liquid.
Now with all of these things considered the rest is a personal choice of taste. As mentioned earlier choosing a juice based on a preference from one of the 4 main categories that fit your tastes will see you find a flavour you don’t mind tasting repeatedly all day.
Taking things like specific characteristics of smells from tobacco that you enjoyed e.g., vanilla, honey, cream etc, can also keep the nostalgic feeling of your favourite flavours from smoking, whereas choosing a new flavour like fruit or dessert style ones can offer a new route to take for your new journey.
In conclusion, it can be very difficult to find a suitable flavour and even when you do you may run out or need a change but remember to stay active and persevere on your search. Don’t be afraid of trying new things and make sure you stock up when you find the one!
