Making the transition from Smoking, controlling your habit and keeping of the Ciggies.

There is a multitude of reasons why you may wish to stop smoking, and in these modern times just as many ways to do so. Including but not limited to electric cigarettes, nicotine toothpicks, patches, and as many other methods of consumption that you may imagine. 

However, the research shows staying close to the action your habit poses is the most likely to work long term. After all, you wouldn’t expect a butcher to go vegan overnight, and the same stands for a smoker. You have much less of a chance of getting off and staying off if the new direction you have chosen is too unfamiliar and uncomfortable.

Hence when a customer comes into a store we ask about their existing habit and consumption methods to draw similarities in what we have to offer to help them get away from combustion and onto a cleaner and less expensive mode of cessation. 

A simple pod device with its restricted airflow can offer a reasonably inexpensive way to re-create that cigarette-style hit and often without having to use a firing button, this furthering its similarity to a cigarette and increasing the likelihood the customer will stay with their new method long term. 

I hear you saying “but what about the fact I am a heavy smoker” ... and that is no issue either as all of the devices you can choose from can use e-liquids which come in incremental strengths of nicotine content to quench your needs as necessary. 

The strengths often range from high or full strength at 50mg (nicotine salts) down to around 20mg (nic salt) which is low strength. However, even for a first-time vapour who is a heavy smoker, I would advise staying with a medium strength liquid to avoid getting a harsh or peppery taste which could potentially put a new vaper off. 

On top of this, salt nicotine paired with a pod device can produce a little amount of vapour with maximum effectiveness to kill cravings, again making it not dissimilar to smoking, and an easy and effective alternative.

Now for those of you who plan to reduce the nicotine content incrementally over a period of time, this is also no issue. Simply talk to your local vape store about what strengths they stock and start to work your way down in your own time. 

In conclusion, there are several styles of e-cigarette but being able to replicate that feeling of how a cigarette feels is vital in the quest to get you off and keep you off the smokes. The introduction of larger adjustable pod/mods can help to transition you into the multitude of styles of vaping once you have made the change to full time vaping without the need for numerous devices which can be costly. Whatever you decide to go with, vaping is a cost-effective and healthier alternative to smoking and can be a great tool in the cessation of smoking.
