So, they are perfectly safe to use. Then there is the wick. The wick is made of unbleached cotton, which is a naturally produced material and humans have been using it for thousands of years. That leaves us with the liquid inside.

If you have been following untrustworthy news sources, then you have probably heard them rattle off a list of names of chemicals that are supposedly present in the vaping fluids, and are unhealthy for you. Well, here’s the thing about chemicals. They sound dangerous. Take water for instance. You probably know its chemical name – dihydrogen monoxide. Do you know how many “dangerous sounding” chemicals are perfectly safe and used by you on a daily basis?

Let’s see. Do you know acetylsalicylic acid? It even has the word acid in it. Definitely scary, right? Do you want to know what’s its common name? Aspirin®. That’s right! Likewise, do you want to know the common name for ascorbic acid? Vitamin C!

How about sodium chloride? That’s table salt.

Everything that you come across, the air you breathe, the nutrients you consume, the liquids you drink, and everything else, has a chemical name. So, it is important to understand that a chemical name does not make something dangerous. Now, let’s get to the components of the vaping liquid.

Glycerine is one of the most commonly used chemicals in every aspect of our life. Cough syrups, toothpaste, soaps, skincare products, and many other household items have glycerine in them.

Here’s something you should know about nicotine. It is toxic in high doses. It is particularly harmful when you are burning it. However, when used in particulate form, it is completely harmless. Here’s why. Nicotine reacts with other chemicals when it burns, and the byproducts of this combustion are harmful, even toxic. But, on its own, it is a perfectly harmless chemical in small doses. Flavours

Many vape manufacturers do not share the details of the flavours they use in their products. That’s because the flavours tend to be trade secrets. So, they end up using names like Unicorn Milk, Pony on Acid, etc. However, these flavours have all been certified safe for human consumption. If the manufacturers make use of any flavours that are proven to be harmful to health, they run the risk of getting fined in millions of dollars and being put in prison. So, that’s something they will be serious about.
